As of September 23, 2019 the free upgrade to Windows 10 is still working except for those blocked from the upgrade due to hardware or software incompatibilities. As a reminder, the Microsoft support of Windows 7 will be ending on January 14, 2020. After that date, there is no guarantee that Microsoft will issue any further security updates for Windows 7, even though we have seen occasional emergency updates for the non-supported Windows XP in the past. Internet browsers and other software running on Windows 7 will eventually not be supported with updates either. The free upgrade to Windows 10 could be ended by Microsoft at any time, so if you are considering it, don’t put it off too much longer!
